The Cocoon® Platform utilizes a single use, disposable cassette to functionally close and automate cell manufacturing. Primarily developed to automated all steps in CAR-T cell manufacturing, the Cocoon® Platform is being used for numerous applications where automated cell expansion, with real-time process monitoring, is required.

The goal is to provide a scalable and cost-efficient manufacturing solution to current cell therapy manufacturing bottlenecks.

The Cocoon® Platform is being designed to include the following features:

• Integration of all key unit operations, including activation, transduction, expansion and harvest, as needed, into a functionally closed, disposable cassette
• Monitoring and control of temperature and gases, pH and DO with real time feedback
• Hands-off cultivations through an integrated 4°C cold chamber that allows for preloading of process reagents
• Ability to take in-process samples at various stages during the process with minimal disruption

• Information logging and control with electronic batch records for full product traceability
