Lonza’s lung fibroblasts are not taken from any specific area of the lung but instead are taken from an area that appears to be in good shape and is non-hemorrhagic. The pleural membrane is removed and the peripheral tissue is used. Enzymatic separation and growth in a cell specific growth medium further purify the population.
