Both assays use the same assay principle, but MycoAlert® PLUS Assay luminesces much brighter than the original MycoAlert® Assay. Because of the higher light output MycoAlert® PLUS Assay may be used on luminometers that were not sensitive enough for the standard MycoAlert® Assay. In addition, this enables a dilution protocol that can be used to test unused media, water, and supplements and in cases where interference of media compounds with the assay is suspected.
