Q:

Do antibiotics effect the MycoAlert® and MycoAlert® PLUS Mycoplasma Detection Kits?

A:

Gentamycin and all commonly used antiboitics do not effect MycoAlert® and MycoAlert® PLUS Mycoplasma Detection Assay. We have tested amphotericin, ampicillin, cephalothin, kanamycin, lincomycin, in addition to gentamycin, penicillin and streptomycin and none interfere with the MycoAlert® Assay.
