Yes. However, the recommended medium has been validated with the PeliKine Human IL-6 ELISA Rapid Kit included in the PyroCell® MAT System. Please note that experience with alternative cell culture medium is limited. The IMDM 12-722F from Lonza has been chosen since it reliably shows very low endotoxin contents. The specification for the medium is <= 0.25 EU/mL, but it is consistently tested below 0.005 EU/mL. This information is given on our certificate of analysis for the medium.

If choosing an alternative medium, attention must be paid to assayable endotoxin levels that may interfere with the assay. If information regarding the endotoxin
content is not available, we recommend to test the alternative cell culture medium with an endotoxin detection assay, e.g. kinetic chromogenic LAL assay, kinetic turbidimetric LAL assay, or recombinant factor C assay from Lonza.
