Keratinocyte, (NHEK-Ad) human adult

Primary keratinocytes; darkly & lightly pigmented, derived from human adult skin tissue.

Cell Type:
Skin/Hair Epith.
Tissue Origin:
dermal
Species:
human
Research Area:
Cancer Research/Cell Biology
Dermatology/Tissue Engineering
Cell Characteristics:
Adherent

Recommended Media

Our first media specialised for growing keratinocytes.
Now superceded by KGM-Gold

The original medium for growth of keratinocytes but without Calcium.

KGM-2 has been discontinued. As alternative we recommend the KGM-Gold BulletKit 00192060

Supports proliferation of primary human keratinocytes in culture.
Drives faster proliferation than the original KGM.
Now superceded by KGM-Gold

A serum-free, calcium free keratinocyte growth medium

Optimized for Normal Human Epidermal Keratinocytes in a serum-free environment.
Provides a nutrient rich medium that provides normal physiological growth characteristics and population doubling times.
KGM-Gold supports low, moderate, and high density keratinocyte cultures better than KGM or KGM-2, without nutrient depletion.

The table below shows data for the cell type and Nucleofector™ Platform selected. Those data are either based on Lonza Optimized Protocols or on results shared from customers who performed an optimization based on our guidelines. In case no data are shown for the selected Nucleofector™ Platform, please take a look at our optimization strategy to get further guidance on how to easily determine optimal Nucleofection conditions yourself.
