Q:

Will Lonza’s normal human intestinal epithelial cells (InEpC) proliferate? Can Lonza’s InEpCs be subcultured?

A:
Once plated, Lonza’s normal human intestinal epithelial cells (InEpC) will attach, flatten, and increase in size, but will not actually proliferate. These cells should not be subcultured. As the cells will not proliferate and should not be subcultures, Lonza’s InEpCs must be plated in their final research vessel immediately from cryopreservation. When plated according to Lonza’s recommendations these cells will be at =50% confluency on day 5-7 after plating.
