Q:

When performing the Lonza Bacterial Endotoxin Test (BET), LAL gel clot endotoxin detection kit how do I know if I have a positive result for gel clot?

A:

A positive result is a firm gel which maintains its integrity through inversion to 180°. Resist the temptation to look at any of the test tubes before the hour is up. When reading your test results after the one-hour incubation gently withdraw each tube and invert it 180° in one smooth motion. Do not stop at 45° or 90° to look before continuing inversion. Be careful of adjacent tubes when making withdrawals.
