Lonza has observed these cells up to 59 days in culture and even at that time, the cells displayed beating in syncytium.

It is, however, possible that unseen physiological changes may occur to the cells during this time. As these cells are a non-proliferating cell type and beating in syncytium will occur within the first 48 hours after plating. Our general suggestion is to begin experimentation immediately after beating in syncytium is observed.
