The group of Chi et al analayzed various endothelial cells. Tissue-specific expression patterns in different tissue microvascular endothelial cells suggest they are distinct differentiated cell types that play roles in the local physiology of their respective organs and tissues. The results are published in 2003 Sep 16;100(19):10623-8.
